Here is a list of some cell phone company’s email address that will be sent as an SMS/text to the phone if you want the alert sent to your phone other than a regular e-mail address. If you have a pager and would like the alert send to your pager, go to your pager provider web page for the email format….

T-Mobile: phonenumber@tmomail.net
Virgin Mobile: phonenumber@vmobl.com
ATT: phonenumber@txt.att.net
Sprint: phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Verizon: phonenumber@vtext.com
Nextel: phonenumber@messaging.nextel.com

Click on "Alerts" and it should now show up as an option.

In order to indicate the level of magnitude this has on contributors do you think there should be a list available of all the subscribers or at least a total #? This sort of thing can get big fast and you don't want folks sending "test" every time someone signs up.

ok, now the "Alerts" web page shows recipient and dispatcher totals for each alert group.

The subscriber info will remain private as I believe people should be able to anonymously subscribe to the alert groups.

When you click on Alerts all it does is flash the screen, I'm sure you are currently working out the bugs

It should work fine now. You probably opened the page while I was editing it.

For those running PDW Copy and Paste the Dispatch into this Alert system.

Rich, I click ALERTS and the screen flashes like it wants to go to another web site or screen but returns to the origional screen.

That is really strange. It works fine for me on both Firefox and Internet Explorer. Is anybody else seeing this ?

One thing you can try is clearing you cache & cookies (Tools, Internet Options, Delete, Delete All from Internet Explorer).

I suppose that depends on what people want. For the most part I would imagine routine police/fire/ems calls would not be proper for alert. Here are some good examples of things worthy of paging out:

- Mass-casualty incidents
- Large multi-alarm structure fires
- SWAT activity or other large police deployments
- Pursuits
- Riots involving over 50 people
- Earthquakes 8.0 and above
- Category 5 storms
- Meteor impacts
- Massage Parlor vice raids

etc...

For officer safety reasons, I will ask folks do not send details of in-progress, tactical situations.
