How far is that from the horses and will you have to move them?

About a mile. Probably won't need to move them as it looks like the fire will pass by.

This is where you horse(s) are boarded?
If I wasn't so far away I would help you out with your animals.
Does the wind direction stay consistent?
Not good fire weather there today either.

Yep that is where I keep em. The wind was blowing the fire north away from where I took the photo from. It was quite the scene when it got dark. I could see three mountains on fire. One of them was Mt. Lukens which is a radio site NW of Mt. Wilson.

Looks like the wind changed. Now the hill in my earlier photo is totally engulfed. Quite the sight.

SoCal Edison (SCE) had just completed bringing two new high power feeder power lines up to Mt Wilson. It took over a full year to complete. If Mt Wilson goes -- it will take along time to re-build.

This may be a bit preliminary, but now that its turned tragic has anyone heard of what might be the cause?

Fire officials are saying that this was "human caused" and that the investigation will begin to determine if it was accidental or arson.
It has burned an area the size of Chicago and the official states that the ignition point has been identified as on the Angeles Crest Highway near mile marker 29
