Sigh... and now fights breaking out around the fire. This one's a zoo.

They sound like they really should be using multiple tac channels too.... Fire4 is just swamped.

I can see the smoke from the fire, drifting over Puyallup.

my house got covered in the smoke south of highlands, still stinks out.

i heard this place was "under construction" for renovation... I wonder if it was a torch job to get insurance.

I saw 2 military helicopters with long things on the nose, what were they up to?

Both Google and Bing maps show nothing there before - google seems to have been taken when it was starting to be built. So not a remodel....

Just got back from the scene of this one.. Man whoever said it was a ZOO is right! wow the streets around the area were an absolute mess. I do have to say that whoever was in charge of traffic control did not do to good. they should have shut streets and major intersections around this fire down. There was way to much traffic around the scene. I also happen to be near the scene of the officer that was hit by a car. Some guy blew the intersection and apparently hit a person directing traffic and then plowed the Renton officer. Also that scene was another mess! they should have shut down the street blocks away instead they had traffic and people all over the place. It was a scary scene. Very easy for someone else to be hit. A very big night in Renton. The smoke header on this one was amazing!!! Could be seen from all over apparently. Prayers and best wishes go out to the officer and other traffic director that were hit..

Wow. This is like oversleeping and missing finals.

This was literally 2.5 miles straight out my family room window and I A) didn't have the radio on today and B) had the blinds dropped because the sun was so bright this evening. I opened them after I saw this post, about 10PM. I can still see activity at the scene with the telescope. Lame. Local news was saying people saw flames from Bellevue and I missed it entirely. Guess the lesson here is to always have the radio on.

They were either on their way to or from doing special things, or one of the above and decided to sightsee.
