Next thing you know the Electronic Equipment Bank and Grove Enterprises will be closing their doors. As long as Monitoring Times magazine doesn't go belly up..... Not sure what I'd do without Fed Files. |

No word if they will have bargain basement close out prices. I've always liked Universal and have tried to buy things from them even if they are a little bit more than others. |

Sad to see them go. They were one of my personal favorites. Not only did they carry a wide selection of amateur/scanner/swl equipment but they also kept product history online showing the progression of radio models and their successors throughout the years. One by one these places fall victim to changing times. Remember ABC/ARS/C-Comm ? |

You're not alone, that place was cool for nostalgia but that was it. I know I know, the grumpy old guy was just being himself but still. |

I kinda knew George, K7HBN, the big guy with a beard. (I went in one slow winter weekend afternoon and he was working a contest with the shop antenna and one of the display radios. Stopped after I was in the shop for about a minute.) After C-Comm closed, I ran into him at another commercial radio shop and he was willing to take in a TS-520 which needed a tune up. I don't know if the shop was spun off from C-Comm or totally different. It's been enough years that I don't remember the name of the second shop. As well as amateur radio parts, C-Comm did a big business in commercial radio. |
