The incumbent will serve as a telecommunications specialist, responsible for planning and implementing arrangements for the use of frequencies, and for establishing acceptable policy rules for day-to-day operations within broad governing agreements, approved by the interdepartmental Radio Advisory Committee (IRAC).

•Managing and providing administrative, information resource management (IRM), and technical support to the Coast Guard’s field units for the frequency management program.
•Managing the procurement and distribution of data material of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) maritime services.
•Serving as a technical staff manager supporting the use of radio frequencies for law enforcement, command and control, radio navigation, and distress and safety purposes.
•Managing the Emergency Readiness program for the use of the radio spectrum during national emergencies, devising plans and initiating action to provide a reserve of assets to support requirements during the emergency.
•Developing methods for enhancing efficiency of telecommunications systems throughout modifications and applications of evolving technology.
