How many of you take your and held scanners at airshows and nascar racing events.? Just wonder if they allow the crowd to bring thier scanners to thier events? |

At NASCAR, you can rent them at the track. I don't know if they frisk you for them at the gate and don't allow them in because they would lose $$$ but I wouldn't think so. That would cause controversy amongst the NASCAR crown. Airshows? I've gone to hem and had a scanner radio so I'm guessing it is OK. |

Seem just as well at NASCAR park some where high and use binoculars and use your own scanner be cheaper. at airshows that seems to ok I remenber I like going to small airports with my scanner Of course I had to call up goodyear airport and ask them if I could and tell them my intent was and yes they allowed me at veawing deck out side pilots lounge, but it was good past time. |

Yes to both. As far as NASCAR events. I went to the race in Vegas this year and had planned on programming my scanner up to us. I quickly found it's a daunting task. 43 cars (or so) for each series. Each one running a primary and backup frequency. It's almost impossible to find all the correct frequencies for each team for free. Renting a scanner with a headset at the track is the only way to go. They have each series programmed separately in to the scanner with alpha tags. If you had only a handful of teams you want to hear, then I can see maybe spending the time to research the frequencies they use. Other than that, spend the 40 bucks and rent a scanner with headset for the weekend. |

$40 bucks scanner rental , ufgh I still rather have my own scanner with me. here we have NASCAR in feburary and there some airshows in spring we have luke days that when the airforce base is open to the public... but renting a hand held scanner at NASCAR will if some one rips it off while your using it maybe thier insured againist theft and damages on those scanners. |
