Major point is that the phone requires an acknowledgment when sending text data, ect. So the handset will keep trying if it doesn't get through. Voice does not work this way. This can work in the mountains hiking or driving along Lake Cresent west of Port Angeles day to day where the coverage sucks. |

I went to a seminar at an electronics show in Seattle (remember Sean?) and we learned that during the 9/11 attacks the NY 800 system was shit but the BlackBerry network remained operational and was used during and throughout the ordeal. Thought that was interesting. |

Data uses less bandwidth than voice. On fringe areas where I haven't been able to get a voice call through, I've successfully sent text messages. |

also important to note that when your stuck somewhere its better to tweet then to simply SMS to one person that way we all know about it.. you could also post up to intercept emergency news from your Iphone or blackberry which is tweet v0.0.0.1 I tweeted about this post tweet |
