I am not even going to bother with this product. Like all of MS other security products they are next to useless. I'm sure this is not going to be anymore useful than Windows firewall :D Do yourself a favor and don't bother.....this will only end up causing you a bunch of head aches.

This is interesting

17 year old Windows vulnerability shows that it's time to drop legacy support!

:horse:

All OS's have their bugs but as mentioned earlier MS products get beat up on much more than the competition because of their popularity. I have been using XPP for years and have not had any problems, exploits, or BSOD. Whats my secret ? #1 is take Taco's advice and don't go around doing stupid things like opening up .exe files emailed to you. #2 is to stay current with updates and service packs. #3 is run your computer behind a hardware-based firewall. #4 is disable the preview pane in Outlook Express so you can easily delete suspicious emails with attachments without opening them. Outside of that I run Thunderbird & Firefox because of personal preference.

Sounds like common sense, Rich :-)

I do have to say I'm amazed at folk's attitude about cybercrime.

Can you imagine saying that "It's really my home builder's fault, and my own, that I got burglarized. I mean really - that front door isn't so secure, and I've got cool stuff in my house. The burgler was just smart and we should admire that."

I run the 'No Script' add-on in Firefox.
Seems to help out too.

I just point a gun at my computer all the time. The trigger is hooked up to the cdrom drive. if any of that hacking happens BAM no more 1's and 0's in my home!
