It's a pretty high traffic area, so they can't be too careful. Many of them are pointed at the Hollywood sign to discourage vandalism. There's a loudspeaker connected to dispatch to yell at folks who get too close.

This site is LAPD, LAFD and LASD. Also some MTD stuff. I love the cobbled together creosote telephone pole microwave tower.

I got close once. But the driver wouldn't stop.

I don't miss that area at all.

Towers in the background are LA County Communications Center in East LA

Aptly-named "Radio Hill" near Dodger Stadium. This was the site of the original LAPD radio transmitter. The new tower is LAPD.

Video Road up on Mount Wilson. The "bunker" on the left is an AT&T Long Lines site.

Montecito Heights. Mount Wilson in the background.

Yeah looks like SMR Network had two, probably Blanton and maybe Buck? Motorola had theirs on Blanton. SMR Network probably had some GE MARC-V systems down there too? Radio and interconnect on both of them.

My Ex-girlfriend's dad still has quite a few SMR licences in Eugene. He had an 800 LTR system up and running, then sold some to Nextel back in the day.
