Spent 3 years here back in the early 70's ( Misawa, Japan )

Antenna was 3 football fields in diameter!

The top two are at Misawa. also did tours at Guam & Skaggs Island and both had these antennas. But no more!

Nice photos. I didn't realize that cars only came in two colors in the 1980's.

The Japan sites were interconnected with a couple of different troposcatter systems. The tropo antennas still stand at Fuchu and apparently connected to Misawa via a relay in Sendai however I've never found confirmation of the where the Sendai tropo relay was located.

Sobe is gone but there is still an apparently active CDAA on Okinawa at 26 29 23 N 127 55 23 W. I believe this is USMC Camp Hansen.
