There has been a large contingent of military aircraft over the Monroe/Sultan area of Snohomish County throughout late Sunday night and early Monday morning. There was at least one C-130 (or some other monstrous prop variant), several helicopters, and two jets. None had marker lights activated, so it was difficult to get an accurate count. Anyone know what was going on? |

The Night Stalkers out of Ft Lewis were flying some night practice missions through the Mtns in the Sultan Monroe area, they are supposed to be sticking to the Duvall /Carnation side of the hills, but they have been hanging out in the Haystack Mt area. I got a pretty good look one night with my night vision goggles, and they were flying with IR strobes. Loud and all get out, then after it quieted down the C130 made a showing. Makes me wish I was still in the Army sometimes. |
