Is there a simple way to tell if a set of tracks is in service or not, without sitting and watching them for a long period of time? My work vehicle is being moved to a station where nearly every response will have to cross the tracks at 90th and Willows Rd in Redmond, and the boss has been pushing response times lately. |

Look at the top of the rails. Shiny = in use, rusty = not in use. Keep in mind that line now deadends about a mile south of 90th so its unlikely you will see any trains coming through there. That line is also deadends at Snohomish to the north (now Centennial trail) and Bothell to the west (now Burke Gilman trail). In fact the only way to get onto that line is to go through Renton to Bothell and play some spur/switching games. |

Isnt that the line the dinner train was evicted from? Because they were going to retire the track?? |
