All of the 700 Mhz freqs -- are only used as low powered - 2.5 watt -- mobile extenders -- at this time. They are repeated onto the CHP Low band channels from the patrol vehicles and are replacing the old VHF mobile extenders -- on 154.905. The best channels are still the VHF Low band ( from 39 to 46 Mhz). While the old VHF 154.905 channel is or was a good channel to be able to hear -- CHP units -- that where close to your location -- the new 700 Mhz channels -- have a lot less coverage. More soon.
