any word yet if LAPD is going to make the move to Phase 2 P25 mode ?

yes P25 phase2 tdma digital instead of the current fdma P25 phase1 digital mode thats being used by LAPD at the moment...without encryption I hope???

LAPD probably won't run crypto as long as LA County SO doesn't want them to.

No. Reasons why not: (1) LA is the Second Largest City in the US. THE MEDIA owns LA. Any encryption would bring the biggest law suit posible. (2) The cost would be out of the question. And (3) just about every officer and unit has access to a cellphone.
