McFarland in Kern County has ended it's contract with the Kern County Sheriff's Office and now has a New 10 man Police Department of it's own. However -- the new agency is having problems with starting it's own 911 dispatch center. As of today the McFarland PD is dispatching on 463.40 (R) --- a commercial Business repeater with a PL tone of 167.9. Future plans call for a new Police frequency of it's own and to possibly have the Delano PD handle the dispatching.
