What trunking radios, if any, will become obsolete when the rebanding takes place?

So far, anything Pre Jedi for Motorola will not work. Some of the older Jedi with lesser memory will have issues also. Jedi was the MTS/MCS line.

So far it looks like

Spectra B,C,E are dead
MTX 800,810,820 are dead.
LTS dead.
Mostar - It was a POS anyway
PP1000 dead
STX's dead
Sabers - Memory issue on some.

The MCS and MTS will have to be flashed. Looks like the new P25 capable stuff is ok, so far.

Beats me on the EFJ and M/A COM stuff.

So it sounds like my 245xlt wont be useable, but what about my 785d. I also wonder if this will affect the trunker program? Why is it exactly that makes it so the old trunkers wont work. I couldn't find a band plan, Are the new freqs unscannable by the old models? Because if that is the case trunker for sure wont work unless my 2006 tunes the right freqs. I am hoping that since my 785d is digital capable that it will be flashable since most of the ones I have seen that can be flashed are digital. This is gonna suck if I have to buy all new scanners. Although I was considering getting a 246T anyways. That is flashable correct?

Edit: OK I found the info I needed. And my 785d is done for trunking anyways. That suuuuucks. Now my question is should I get a digital capable trunker or is val com not going to change over to all digital in the near future?

I'm thinking the FCC should be sending me a check for the "blue book" value of my 250d. (kidding) Still going for close to 200.00 on Ebay (not too shabby)

What a pisser.

I think I'll just set it on fire and try to pee it out. I think I'll get more entertainment value out of it that way, once the rebanding is complete.

Try the Uniden BC246T or the BR330T should both work. Both are flash programmable. Uniden said that they would release an update when rebanneding happens.

Or the BC396T is Digital, but then again not much around here is not you can listen to.

I picked up a 246t. I already wanted it for the close call feature. But it's size will be perfect to take to work with me. And it has alpha tags and will work later on down the road so I figured it was time for an upgrade in my handheld department. That way when the rebanding does happen I only have to uprade my base unit if I wan to..

Will a Pro-94B or a Pro 95 work after the rebanding? Also, when is the rebanding scheduled to take place?

Are there any good websites that have information regarding the rebanding and its effects on scanners?

Any information is a help!

Thanks,

Chris

I'm probably going to sell both my handheld scanners.
I find I haven't been using them much. Since 800 is going to be
rebanded anyway, perhaps there are still areas here in WA that
people may be able to use them.
The thing is, I don't know what to ask for them price-wise.
One is a BC245 XLT. the other, a BC220 XLT. What's a fair price?

I'll give you a $1 for 'em. :D

Check batlabs . They seem to be pretty fair.
