https://apps.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attac ... 4944A1.pdf -Increase in FRS and GMRS channels -Increase in FRS power limits to 2 Watts - Permission to use digital modes in GMRS…not sure if this is stuff like ham digi modes like PSK, MT63 et al or voice digital modes like mototurbo. Here is a sentence from the fcc www site: ( https://www.fcc.gov/general-mobile-radio-service-gmrs ) "In 2017, the FCC expanded GMRS to also allow short data messaging applications including text messaging and GPS location information." |
