In case you haven't heard the news --- Gene Hughes - Publisher of the Police Call - nationwide frequency guides -- has retired. There will not be a new 2006 edition of Police Call. I met Gene many years ago and think of him as one of the "good guys". He loves radio as much as all of us. Maybe Gene will have the time to get a job as a disc-jockey, a job he has always wanted to do. That is if he ever leaves his post with LAPD - which is not likely. Radio Shack has no plans at this time -- to replace the frequency directory with any other book or product. You can still buy a new scanner -- but will you be able to program it ?? Not without Intercept Northwest. KEEP THIS SITE GOING --- MTM :( :(

Has anyone with the Police Call CD figured out how to get it to work with XP?
On 98 the CD worked great but I can't open it (it loads) on XP. Kinda annoying.
I tried 'Make compatabile for 98' in properties.

Give yourself a 5 cent cigar !! You are correct. I hope he lives to be 100. He is a real great guy. He made scanning "respectable" and helped alot of us scanner freqs - way before anyone knew where to look for frequencies. MTM
