This is the first time I've seen any special interest group that did not have any opinions to share about a 'favorite' model, brand, accesory, etc.

I find it nearly impossible to believe that nobody is willing to share their knowledge, experience and expertise to such questions as I posted earlier in the 'How many times have you....'

I know that a question such as 'which scanner to buy' will garner as many answers as there are readers but no answers what-so-ever?

Certainly someone has some answers or thoughts.

I have an Icom and a Yaesu. The Yaesu is easier to operate, but the Icom is an excellent radio. Not a fair to compare, on is dual band HT and the other 2 meter mobile.

Well....what scanner to buy depends on what you want to listen to.

I own many scanners. My fav is my BC250d. I like that it picks up MIL-Air and I have the option of going digital when need be. Its a good price and its upgradable. I like my Icom 718 (HF radio, but a good scanner also) for the HF freqs. I also have an Icom pcr-1000 and an Icom R3. So I basically have coverage from 10khz to 2.4 ghz. All of these radio are budget minded and won't kill your wallet too much so average performance is what i paid for and it works for me and my situation.

So just saying whats the best scanner needs to be clarified into WHAT DO YOU WANT TO LISTEN TOO.

Also. The people on this board are more than willing to share info. Sometimes post get missed. It could have been a busy day and your post fell to the bottom quickly. If not, well post it again a different way.
