Could someone clarify what '7 per rule' means when SFD gets a dispatch (I'm reading the City's dispatch here). It's typically on Assault calls. Insight is appreciated. Thanks! |

Post subject: | Its called a MED 7 Response |
Whenever they have a call where there is ongoing CPR or major trauma they send a Med 7 response which means a they send a number of units so the manpower on the scene is at least 7 people, resustations require alot of manpower. Back in the old days it meant an engine, an aid car and a medic unit, since the downsizing in the number of aid cars they will send 2 engines and a medic unit or 1 engine 1 ladder truck and a medic unit |
