Yeah, well I expect the radio stations to do their test but what is going on is that the FCC requires quarterly tests both before and after 0830. The broadcasters don't want the testing done on the morning commute prime time (read that 6 - 8:30 AM), so they have forced the State to do the testing before the commute. Which means that it was done one morning at about 3 AM on Saturday, and the last one was around 4:10 AM on a weekday. You think hearing the test on a broadcast radio is 'scary', try waking up at 3 AM to the SAME radio alert going off for a test. Can the test feature be turned off...probably. But then with the varying signal strength on VHF (I'm not in a full-quieting area of reception), how will I ever know that the radio even occasionally works.
I'm just curious how many other people object to the early morning SAME alert/tests.
