I tried and tried before I posted here but I just can't get this thing to trunk track. A Deputy brought this thing to me to see if I could get it to track the Snohomish system and I am unable to get it working...and I have the manual too.

Anyhow, I enter all the freqs for phase one in bank one according to the manual. Since this was a used scanner, bank one had other freqs in it but I locked them out. Do I need to get rid of them or delete them some how first? Can I delete an entire bank and start over?

Then according to the manual I hit "search" to begin searching for the trunk's data channel and will then begin to trunk track. Well it searches and finds the control channel but it just locks on to it and all I get is the control channel data noise and that is it......not tracking at all.

There is a system in bank two that seems to track ok so I am sure I am doing something wrong. I just feel that this scanner is a P.O.S. and if someone can help me before I throw it against the wall I would appreciate it. I had no problem with my D250. Thank you!

UPDATE: Since there was a working system on bank two, I locked out all freqs and added the Snohomish freqs to the bank and it is working in bank two. I am not sure why bank one isn't working but at least it is doing something now.

There should be an additional step in the manual where you do something to tell the scanner these are trunked frequencies. I'm not familiar with the 2066, but it will be something like setting the scanner to trunk mode, setting the bank to trunk mode, or pushing an additional button to indicate the frequency is trunked.

Thanks Rich, You are probably correct and I thought I did everything the manual said but it just didn't go. Well it's working on bank 2 and the guy already picked it up so I hope to never see it or a 2066 again. I will recommend they get a D250 or the mobile equivalent.
