So I have been using my 346XT for about two weeks now, and the features are very nice. My major complaint is that there is no paper manual, and the CD-ROM that comes with falls very short of explaining the new features, and even the old ones from the 246T. A new owner of a scanner would never be able to setup a trunked system from their "manual". It really is a shame they decided to do away with paper manuals, and throw together a few pages on a CD-ROM and call that a manual.

yea I noticed that, seems like they fired the technical writer and were like.. oh well Im not one to ever read a manual but its rather appalling the total lack of a document

I couldn't find an easier to read one, sometimes Mark's scanner page has one for most models. Did the 346 replace the 330t?

Uniden has theirs online for the 346xt, but it may be similar to your CD version

yes to the replacement

246-330-346

basically it makes them all operate on the same idea as the 996 and 15 with the XLT options for some small hardware hacks.

If you own a 996/15/330 I would question the cost to upgrade to the new hardware for "need features"
if you own a 246 and love the way the 15 works then its worth the cash.
