Made a two day run to Missoula for some stuff (Hi again Brian!), notes as follows:

Montana- Still can't find any of the Montana Interop VHF digital system sites between the state line and Missoula. All the usual suspects were still active in Missoula on VHF conventional. Did catch a Moto Type 2 system on 800- 858.2875, SysID of 451E, connect tone of 83.72. FCC shows it's the "Stone Container Corp", aka Smurfitt-Stone. Never heard/saw any traffic, but I only listened for a bit.

Also, if you go to Missoula, stop at the Hooter's on Reserve. Say hi to Cara. It's worth it.

Idaho- Found one site of the new statewide 700mhz TRS while eating in Post Falls, as logged below. It stated it was in site trunking mode. I don't know why it gives an ID of 001, when the actual is 18B. Something with the site trunking?

Washington-

-WSP Air-to-ground speed enforcement near George was running on 155.445.

-Still hearing the PSE MPT-1327 system control channel atop Ryegrass summit.

-Nailed down three new (to me) IWN sites in eastern Wa, 134, 135 and 136, logged below. 134 was strong west of E-burg, 135 and 136 were 5x5 from Ryegrass Summit to nearly Cle Elum.

Whenever they run it here in Yakima, I always hear the pilot asking the ground guys what frequency they want to use. LERN, WSP C2C 1 or 2 or even OSCCR, I've heard it all here.

Wil, any of that other stuff you think I might be able to hear in Yakima?

Try listening for IWN sites- 164-174. You'll hear the control channel, but that's likely it.

Sometimes I will fire up a new site with the wrong system ID and put it on the air in site trunking for testing or burn in. Radios will not roam to it. A tech can still work through issues or check coverage and not impact users.

Plus it makes scanner freaks post weird questions on the innerweb.

...And now I remember when I went through that area last April, it was showing a SysID of 001 then as well. It has awesome coverage, I wonder why Post Falls/CDA aren't using it...

If the internet is a series of tubes, what in the hell is the innerweb? A series of silk strands? Better keep that one to yourself.

That's the best way to visit Spokane.

I heard this one all over the place; see below:

With Mission Ridge being somewhere in that circled area, if I recall correctly, I almost happy to assign 136 to there in my notes.

Got me a new carrr. 2002 Sienna with 67k. Thinking about two weeks early July. OR/CA/AZ maybe CO then home through Idaho. Looks like a bad fire year so maybe so no far views.
