 Post subject: Antennas in the cold...

Check your antenna mounts. My 2-way was getting poor reception and upon checking the lip mount on the rear gate I discovered the nut and the NMO mount were separating in response to the cold temperatures. Had I not noticed this my nice SBB5 would be all over I-405 right now...

Interesting.

In the 1992 "Inauguration Day" windstorm, a 75' cedar tree split my beloved (and now deceased) Camaro right down the middle.

The only thing that held was my trusty NMO mount. In fact, I still use that mount to this day.
