Has anyone found out the frequencies that the employees' cell phone looking radios used at Fred Meyer and Lowe's operate on? They don't show up on a Scout very near the radios so they may be digital. They don't seem to use the frequencies licensed to the stores. They seem to have store intrercom interconnect. |

They look like cell phones because... they are. I don't know all the particulars of their system yet, but they are indeed a cell phone - the store apparently has some kind of "mini cell network" setup inside the store for communications. Try using your cell phone in the store - usually their signals completely kill your cell phone's reception. Anyway, if that's the case - that they operate on cell frequencies - it would actually be illegal (and these days, close to impossible) to scan them. Anybody else got some specific information? |
