Has anyone found out the frequencies that the
employees' cell phone looking radios used at
Fred Meyer and Lowe's operate on? They don't show up on
a Scout very near the radios so they may be digital.
They don't seem to use the frequencies licensed to
the stores. They seem to have store intrercom interconnect.

They look like cell phones because... they are. I don't know all the particulars of their system yet, but they are indeed a cell phone - the store apparently has some kind of "mini cell network" setup inside the store for communications. Try using your cell phone in the store - usually their signals completely kill your cell phone's reception.

Anyway, if that's the case - that they operate on cell frequencies - it would actually be illegal (and these days, close to impossible) to scan them.

Anybody else got some specific information?
