Does anyone run the delay on your scanner on any of the Trunked systems you scan? I have heard varied reports in the past, some say don't use it, so that it scans the freqs faster and gets to the control channel better and i have heard others say its good to use in a trunbked system so that you don't miss any good "info" on talkgroups.. I usually have mine set to "on" but recently have taken to removing that and trying it without.. What say you? |

I deploy 5 second channel hold on all my scanners, just preference I like to hold the channel to see if anyone else chimes in. |

I do not use a deley on my trunks. the build in "repeater wait" of 1-2 seconds before the carrier turns off is enough for me to stay with the conversation or move on. I do use a delay on conventional simplex and repeater outs of 2 seconds. my trunker is a Pro-94 and I have tried it with both the delay on and off in trunck mode. I have not noticed any adverse effects or delayed locking onto the control channel. |
