Well -- it's almost here. The 700 Mhz (764-794 Mhz) Public Safety Band. And my Pro-95 will not pick up 700 mhz. So what scanners -- on sale today -- will ??? :D :D |

The Uniden 396 is on 'sale' at scannersunlimited in San Carlos CA http://www.scannersunlimited.com/scanlist.html He has the pro-96 on sale for 379$ but is doesn't do 700 or LTR That would be my choice for audio quality but Uniden seems to be the way to go and it comes with programming software too. Where is 700 here other than Idaho, speaking regionally of course. |

Idaho is the only spot in the NW licensed for 700 Mhz -- at this date. Nothing yet in WA or OR. |

It would be nice - for scanner geeks like us -- but don't count on it not showing up sometime within the next 5 to 6 years. I still am not sure that the Uniden 396 will receive the new 700 mhz channels -- like 764.05625, 764.06875, and the 764.071875, 764.065625. LOTS of numbers in those new frequencies. Can you enter those frequencies into the Uniden 396 ??? |
