Hey Guys/Gals.

I spent last night fooling around with my new Motorola XPR4550. Here are some screen (display) shots for you guys to feast on.

Oh, and here's a short video I made today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=En8-lRhDoro

I did a dry fit in my car- the radio is DIN size, so I'd imagine there's a nice bracket available.

Enjoy.

Don't you mean 764.7625?

It's a part of the "pre-alloted" 700mhz PS block as defined by the FCC. IN the master plan of these pre-allotments, it's known as Channel # 121.

Currently the only devices operating in that range are wireless microphones in use by some of our local television stations.

I use it to test all of my 700/800 radios before I sell them.

Did you ever notice --- that radios and most electronic gizmos or do-dads are getting smaller -- which is good, but the controls or key pads are getting smaller -- which is bad. Unless you are a midget -- and I have nothing against midgets -- some of the best times I have had at a Motel 6, have been with a young female midget from Tacoma, attending law school -- but playing with her knobs was easyer -- than those darn new push buttons on those darn new radios. Make the radios smaller and the key pads and buttons larger --. Nice pictures of the new rig. Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the midget from Motel 6.

But some of the technology has gotten more expensive, as did Motel 6.

o.0*

Moving on...

My wife got the new BlackJack from Tingular and I swiped it for a few days. Great device but I found myself dialing and typing on the Qwerty keyboard with my fingernail since the keys were so small.

I've got the blackjack and love it- aside from the less-than-stellar battery life. I've got to switch batteries mid-day as not to worry about a long call killing it.

The QWERTY keyboard is pretty small, but I've gotten used to it. It just takes a couple hundred text messages/emails and it'll be second nature.

The web browsing is top-notch- I check the board from my phone regularly.

The motoTRBO is DIN-Sized so it'll fit in most cars. I'm planning on mounting it in mine. The buttons are a bit cramped, but I push buttons for a living so it's not an issue. 8)
