I am a HUGE fan of the Radio Shack Pro 2067 and the Radio Shack Pro-92. These 2 scanners offer amazing features and are also able to decipher pl tones. I'm glad I have both. Another option, although more expensive, is a Kenwood 2-way radio. The TK-890 is the UHF version. You can find some decent deals on ebay. Personally for VHF listening I have a Kenwood TK-730. Extremely sensitive and is able to scan up to 99 channels. Here are the Kenwood models and which band are set up for: TK-690 - Low Band TK-890 - UHF (450) TK-790 - VHF (136-174) TK-980 - 800mhz You might be asking so the answer is yes, I work for a 2-way radio dealer who sells Kenwood, Icom, Maxon, and Patriot brands.
