Comcast broadcasts many channels in HD right now.. Are you referring to the switch to all HD thats mandatory per FCC next year?

That coax is like it's own radio spectrum. The "Digital Switch" in '09 has no effect on people with cable or satellite; just those with rabbit ears.

For example, 469.25 is channel 65, but if you turn your scanner on and dial into that frequency, you'll hear nothing but silence, er, static.

Here in the Gig harbor area I counted 28 HD channels for comcast. Comcast is adding more HD channels: Discovery channel HD, Animal Planet HD, Food Network HD, Sci Fi HD, TLC HD. HGTV HD on March 4th. I think comcast HD is great! :D
