This information was taken from the forums. The feed is courtesy of a user named "pfish". It was just set up this evening, and seems to be mainly National Guard and Louisiana State Police (Troop B F-1) talkgroups on the Louisiana State Trunking System. If you use Winamp, you can see alpha tags:

I have set up a live feed from my scanner on my 100Mbps server. It should hold quite a few people and there shouldn't be any issues.

It has live text tags also. If you wish to listen, add this url to winamp: http://205.252.89.181:8000/live.m3u

God bless the emergency personal that have gone well above the call of duty during this time of need. Great posting Brad.

Everyone down there is taking a beating - from the victims to the emergency responders. It is quite a madhouse, and it doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon.

I was listening about an hour ago, a National Guard checkpoint was taking some heat from citizens because they (Nat guard) were not getting medical assistance quick enough for a heart attack victim. They were calling and calling for medical assistance, and were not getting a response. You could hear the angry crowd in the background, and the tension in the Nat Guard voice and he announced that "things were deteriorating"....

It's gotta be hellish down there. Hopefully, they will get some breaks real soon....

The guy that is providing the feed is actually in NE Louisiana, and is hearing most of his traffic through the Louisiana State trunking system - and then, only when there's a properly affiliated radio in his neck of the woods. Hit and miss, but seems to be a lot of traffic coming through anyway.

At least there's something there for us now...

Between the lulls in streaming audio activity, here are a couple of interensting articles about Communications down there. These were also obtained from the radioresource.com thread:

National Interagency Fire Center cache radios are being used.

New Orleans Police dispatch center flooded and Radio Techs prevented from entering New Orleans.

This seems to have two scanners going. NG mostly on left and locals on the right speaker. Some interesting stuff today - Not sure they know yet that 1000's are listening on the net.

The main page of this site (below) has a bunch of live audio links, and some streaming video links from tv stations in that area:

More and more feeds are starting to pop up, with some of them being mirrored to increase capacity. Real interesting stuff.

I've been trascribing comments about lack of communications. If anyone runs across such comments (in other trascripts or articles), I'd appreciate the lead.

Current compilation is at http://www.CommAcademy.org/katrina
