hey there, just wandering what the best way to organize 800mhz, and the talkgroups associated with. right now i have a bc 250d, and most of my 800mhz channels together in as few banks as possible. but i dont have enough room to program all of the talkgroups i want into the banks that these channels are in. now i saw something somewhere, that if i program a few of the frequencies into each bank , i can program more of the id's spread out. can someone help me out and guide me in the right direction.

plan 1- keep the current frequencies in their current locations. and programming the ID's into all of the possible banks as i can

plan 2- take 1-2 frequencies from each fleet group and spread them out accross my 10 banks, allowing me to add ID's accross the banks accordingly.

any other options that i can try, please let me know

roger, what im thinking of doing is setting it up like this
bank 1- police
bank 2- police
bank 3- sherriff
bank 4- sherriff
bank 5- fire
bank 6- fire
bank 7- emergency
bank 8- emergency
bank 9- misc / common

of course this is all dependant, after i get done setting up the structure of the talkgroups, ive coppied and pasted all of the talkgroups for around king, pierce, snohomish counties and im working on weeding through all the stuff i dont care to listen to, or talkgroups i dont care about out of my master list, then ill print it and place it in my scanner.. but, right now on the 9 banks in the scanner, i got at least 50 800mz channels in it, no real set order, since agencies use the same frequency all over.. that and i dont want duplicate frequencies in the scanner.. i got like 10 monts to work on this, hopefully i can get it done before april, thats when i go on vacation from iraq, back to WA. shouldnt take too long. its a working process. any other ideas, feel free to send this way, also, how active are the search and rescue frequencies, or the ERT frequencies within those areas, i know sometime before i left for iraq, i heard a swat operation on the SAR frequency i had for pierce county. turned out to be a drug bust out in yelm. but turned out to be a "dry hole" but was something interesting to listen to. i then spent the rest of that weekend getting the rest of the story from a friend who works with pierce county SAR, well enough of that, back to work i go, tracking these bad guys and what they do

I group mine into their systems as well. It's just easier for me to track where/what stations I'm listening to.

I have a 780xlt, but you really didn't think I read the instruction manual to do all of that fancy stuff... ;)
