So I just got my new Bearcat 346XT today. Works like a champ. Only problem is that bctool seems to be taking an eternity to write my changes to the scanner. Has anybody experienced this problem before ? I spent a good 30 - 40 mins typing in the TGID's / notes / Names etc etc and I dont want to disconnect it and have to re-program using Freescan. Anybody know why bcTool hasn't released any upgrades sense last summer ? I signed up to the bctool yahoo group awhile back and never got a approval from the group dew hickey person in charge.

Yeah, I had that happen before, but I don't remember what the problem was. Might have had something to do with COM port settings.

The developer of BCTool stopped coding it due to real-life issues. It is not 100% stable.
To be honest, I'm surprised it worked with the 346XT.

What's the other program? It's like ARC or something. They have updated their software to support the new XT scanners.

Arc costs and it's crap. Freescan is the alternative.

such a shame about bcTool. It looks so much better than Freescan. Pretty much everything works on bcTool except write programming! Doh! The EZ-Grab feature on Freescan is really nice. And yea Arc looks like crap, they want 70 bucks for the pro version ? give me a break!

Yeah that's it. I was thinking of Freescan.
