In one spot it says:
"Instant channel 16/9 access for emergency situations"
and
"...switch to the VHF Band for routine or emergency vessel-to-vessel or vessel-to-shore communications".

However on the specs page:
"Channels- 15 GMRS channels"

Misleading.

I giver the Chinese translation a 'Fair' score, only because I've seen worse.

Found this radio on Radio Shacks web site at the following address
and it does cover marine band according to the spec page and the reviews.

It appears that this is the same radio that Best Buy has on their website. It would be interesting to get ahold of one and see what it actually will do!

From Cobra.com:

Frequency Range:

VHF- 156.050 to 163.275 MHz
GMRS- 462.550 to 467.7125 MHz

1900 mAh battery too!

So maybe it does. It should for the price.
